Learn yachting in Dorset

We run daytime, evening, intensive and residential sailing and motor yacht courses.

Our next course is an intensive five and a half day RYA Day Skipper from 14th to the 19th December.  This is a special course as it has a maximum of eight students so you learn fast.  The venue is Orchard Farmhouse.  If you do not live locally then come and stay with us and enjoy our Bed and Organic Breakfast.  see www.orchardfarmhouse.co.uk.

Other daytime and evening sailing courses will start in January 2010.  If you are seeking a Day Skipper course in Dorset or Somerset then your first option is a Monday daytime course, 9.30 am to 2.30 pm at Wincanton Memorial Hall.  Wincanton is very accessible being close to the A303 so even if you live in Taunton, Salisbury or Wells, it could be an option for you. Other nearby towns such as Shepton Mallet, Frome, Yeovil, Sherborne, Gillingham and Shaftesbury are easily accessible.  It will be an RYA Day Skipper course and run for eight consecutive Mondays.  If you have limited experience at sea and now want to develop core skills to skipper a boat, this is an ideal course. 

On Monday evenings from February we are planning the short introduction course - Basic Safety and Navigation.  This will be at Orchard Farmhouse in Hazelbury Bryan, close to Sturminster Newton. 

We are planning a Coastal and Offshore Yachtmaster course to run on eight consecutive Fridays from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.  Dates and venue to be decided but probably also at Orchard Farmhouse, starting in January 2010.

We are also considering an evening RYA Day Skipper course close to Dorchester. Please let us know if this would be of interest and which evening suits you best.

If you are looking for a VHF Marine radio course, our next will be at Orchard Farmhouse on the 7th January 2010.  We will be limiting the course to eight students.  Currently we have four people booked so do get in touch right away if this is a course and certificate you need.
