Individual learning

We offer a very personal service in the form of one-to-one and one-to-two tuition.    We can break down the theory of sailing  into single days, half days or evenings.

We also offer group courses from time to time.  Our next RYA Day Skipper Theory course will be a five day intensive course, from November 7th to the 11th, 2011.  Please enquire now as spaces are limited. 

If you do not live close to North Dorset then you may prefer to come for a tailor made residential course at Orchard Farmhouse.

We are a shorebased school specialising in theory.  Our principal, Rupert Emerson, runs occasional practical courses and is happy to create a bespoke cruise for clients.

Dorset Sailing School

We are based in North Dorset and welcome people interested in yacht charter in South West England.  Perhaps you are looking for chartering opportunities but want to learn some theory before you set out to the Greek Islands on a flotilla holiday.  Maybe you are considering going for a taster sail but want to have a rough idea of what is involved before stepping aboard.

We cater for all ages and backgrounds.  Tuition is very popular with people who have limited time on their hands.  We can fit in with your needs and schedule.
