Learn to sail with ABC Sailing
Having fun learning yacht sailing theory
ABC Sailing, recognised by the RYA, is an enjoyable way to learn the theory of yacht sailing - daytime or evening. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and supportive. We welcome people wanting to learn about sailing or motor yachts.
The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) system is trusted worldwide to make boating safer. ABC Sailing follows the RYA ethos in the area of yacht training. The theory of how to safely take a motor or sailing yacht to sea is a core part of the RYA training process.
Learning about tides and understanding regulations is made enjoyable by ABC Sailing so you can join the following courses, knowing you will have fun while you learn.
For people brand new to yachting, the 16 hour Basic Safety and Navigation course gives you an introduction.
If you are committed to the idea of being able to skipper a yacht, then the Day Skipper course is the way to go.
If you already have a fair amount of experience at sea, the Coastal and Offshore Yachtmaster® sailing theory course gives you in depth skills that enable you to explore far and wide.
ABC Sailing also offer the RYA VHF Marine Radio course.
Through the Principal or via other sailing schools you can go on to practical courses with confidence - see Testimonials.
